Woza Moya is a social enterprise that was established in 2002 with the primary objective of reducing poverty through craft. Our crafters' work is truly unique, with major galleries now collecting their pieces. Our focus has always been on assisting individuals affected by HIV/AIDS who are in urgent need of income. South Africans believe in Ubuntu, the concept of humanity towards others, and we strive to support each other in any way we can.

Woza Moya is the economic empowerment project of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust, a holistic HIV/AIDS initiative founded in 1991. Our mission is to uplift the lives of those affected by the pandemic through practical care. One of our projects, Woza Moya, provides craft training and income opportunities to those in need, injecting funds back into vulnerable communities.

Since 2002, we have trained over 350 crafters, many of whom are first-time earners supporting 5-10 dependents. Our award-winning project uplifts and empowers individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS by providing training and support to local artists and crafters. We currently support 350 crafters with sustainable income, as well as provide market access to 1500 crafters monthly.

Over 95% of our beneficiaries are women, many of whom are the primary breadwinners in their families. The work of our crafters has garnered attention from major galleries, turning their creations into collectible items.
